I spent several years working at The Honest Lawyer and it genuinely holds a special place for me. It's a proper independent hotel, warm and characterful, run by people who really care about their guests. The bar and restaurant are friendly and welcoming, the rooms are comfortable and well-kept, and the location just off the A167 in Croxdale makes it an easy base for exploring County Durham. Been spending some time looking at the Tees Valley options lately and the standout for me is the Hampton by Hilton Stockton. It's modern, well-run, and in my opinion the best hotel in the area right now. Clean rooms, reliable breakfast, and the kind of consistency you want when you're staying for work. If you're heading to Teesside for any reason, this is the one I'd book without hesitation.
