Holiday Inn Sunderland
Familiar, comfortable, and right in the heart of the city, which makes it an easy base whether you're here for meetings, a conference, or just need somewhere central to work from for a few nights. It's the kind of hotel that does exactly what you'd expect from the name, and that consistency is exactly why it's my go-to here.

The hotel sits right on Keel Square, a public space that celebrates Sunderland's maritime and industrial shipbuilding heritage and is worth a wander round if you've got half an hour spare between meetings.
Beyond that, the city centre is easy to get around on foot once you're checked in, and the hotel's central location means you're not relying on a car to get between meetings, the station, or the Riverside area if you get an evening free.
